Royal Baby Watch: Prince William Playing Polo This Weekend While Kate Middleton Stays in London

So much for the idea that Kate Middleton may be giving birth earlier than expected.

Lending credence to the notion that her due date is indeed July 14 as E! News previously reported, Prince William has decided to take part in a charity polo match this weekend 100 miles outside of London while his very pregnant wife is expected to stay put so she can be close to St. Mary's Hospital.

Kensington Palace aides confirmed to the U.K.'s Daily Mail on Tuesday that the father-to-be will play in the Jerudong Trophy Match at the Cirencester Polo?Club, an annual event which he's participated in before that raises funds for some of his favorite charities, including Child Bereavement UK and? the youth homelessness organization Centrepoint.

A source tells E! News William was initially hesitant to make the two-hour trek to Gloucestershire so close to the big day.

"Prince Harry is definitely planning on attending," said the source. "As far as William, he will be there if he can, but obviously if Kate goes into labor, he will be with her.

Apparently given today's news, the Duke of Cambridge feels confident he can get back to the duchess in time.

And in case he's pressed for time, Will could always arrange to fly back to London considering he has a helicopter on standby?while he finishes up the last of his shifts as a search-and-rescue pilot at RAF Valley in Anglesey before he goes on paternity leave.

Should Will?for whatever reason?be delayed, Kate can rest assured mum Carole Middleton will be by her side in any case.

And as E! News reported yesterday, before the expectant royal checks into her luxury suite in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's, the hospital recommends she bring a "go bag," which includes not only her "maternity notes and birth plan," but also a dressing gown and nursing bra for the new mom and blanket and outfits for the baby.

Meanwhile, as the world continues to watch for the arrival of the couple's firstborn, one country in the British Commonwealth has announced plans to mark the occasion with a little something special.

New Zealand, which is a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth as its head of state, will light up more than 20 Kiwi landmarks including Auckland's Sky Tower and Christchurch Airport either in pink or blue in honor of the tiny prince or princess.
